What is a blind cylinder?
A dummy cylinder is a body in the form of a profile cylinder without a locking function. Dummy cylinders are used to lock installation openings for profile cylinders in doors. This is a cost-effective variant for doors that do not require a lock and are not to be locked.
Dummy cylinders are used, for example, for access doors and escape doors in office buildings or public buildings. On the one hand, the use of a dummy cylinder has optical reasons: the open profile cylinder hole is closed for aesthetic reasons. However, blind cylinders also have an actual function.
In large building complexes, access doors often have the function of fire protection doors. In the event of fire, they seal off various fire compartments against the spread of smoke and fire and the ingress of oxygen. The doors must meet special requirements for this. This means that the profile cylinder perforation must be sealed if no lock cylinder is used. This task can be performed by a fire-resistant, certified dummy cylinder.
What is the EASYBLIND suitable for?
The EASYBLIND universal blind cylinder is suitable for all doors that do not need to be locked. These can be simple access doors, escape doors or fire protection doors. The only requirement is that the door must have an installation opening in the form of a profile cylinder.
EASYBLIND is certified for doors up to fire protection class T60. This certification fulfills the fire safety requirements for highly fire-retardant doors according to the MPA NRW. This means that the EASYBLIND blind cylinder can withstand fires for up to 60 minutes. This blind cylinder is therefore suitable for 80% of all standard fire protection fittings.
The dummy cylinder is suitable for door thicknesses from 50 to 132 mm (including fitting).
Choose from two variants:

How does the blind cylinder work?
The EASYBLIND universal blind cylinder can be installed in a matter of seconds without any prior knowledge or tools. Simple and intuitive. The blind cylinder consists of two parts that are simply inserted into each other. The two halves are first pulled apart for this purpose. The halves are then pushed together in the profile cylinder perforation of the door. It is not necessary to align the dummy cylinder.
Unlike other dummy cylinders, the ends of the EASYBLIND are slightly larger than the perforation, so the larger edge of the dummy cylinder rests against the door fitting around the profile cylinder perforation and cannot slip into the perforation. A clamping ring inside the dummy cylinder fixes the parts pushed into each other. The two parts of the dummy cylinder can be pulled apart against resistance when unmounted. However, once they have been secured in the profile cylinder hole in the door, it is no longer possible to remove the dummy cylinder by hand. This protects the blank cylinder from theft and the door from tampering. If the dummy cylinder does need to be removed, a special plastic lever tool is required, which can be obtained from W+M.
The EASYBLIND blind cylinder is patented for this insertion process. This makes it the only blind cylinder on the market that can be installed completely without tools. No measuring, no screwing: simply plug in – done.
